    Steps To Make Sunday Gravy

    The Browning Business

Take the large pan and add olive oil. Add pork ribs and brown them over medium flame. Use a tong to turn them over. After browning, keep them aside on a platter. Similarly, brown ground beef, sausages, and meatballs. Keep all of these aside on separate platters.

    Deglazing and Sauteing

Pour red wine into the same pan for deglazing. In the same pan, add minced onion, shredded garlic, and salt. To this mixture, add tomato paste and the sauce of crushed tomatoes(puree). Add pepper, oregano, sugar, and water. Let the mixture come to a boil over medium flame.

    Waiting for il Sugo!

While the sauce is boiling, add the browned meat pieces. Stir all the ingredients well every 30 minutes over low flame. Continue the process for three hours or so and behold the gravy, il Sugo!

For a vegetarian version, use veggies rather than meat. Also, vegetable stock can be used for the purpose of sauteing. Alongside pasta, salad and crispy bread are also excellent choices for serving Sunday gravy.
